Whitechapel Gallery is undoubtedly one of London's premier contemporary art galleries.  It is often praised for its ability to engage the disparate population from the local area, including many deprived youngters.  Recently, a fascinating new Anglo-North American collaboration was announced that will see this hip gallery cooperate with art philanthropist Hilary M. Weston, wife of Willard Gordon Galen Weston, owner of numerous retail outlets, including noted British store Selfridges.  By Paul Wheatley
