The Gallery

Cultural spirit

Founded in 2002 by Alannah Weston, The Gallery at Windsor is an independent art space within the Windsor community. The Gallery, which is home to important works from the George Weston Collection, invites curators to respond to the space with museum-quality shows of contemporary paintings, works on paper and photography.

Over the last decade, The Gallery has exhibited works by leading contemporary artists including Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Ed Ruscha, Bruce Weber and Nan Bush, Peter Doig, Alex Katz and Tony Scherman.

In April 2011, the Hon. Hilary Weston, Creative Director of The Gallery at Windsor, announced the three-year collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery in London. Once a year, to coincide with Miami’s Art Basel, the Whitechapel Gallery’s Director, Iwona Blazwick, OBE, curated a solo show featuring artists at different stages of their career. This partnership realized exhibitions by Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes, Romanian-born twin brothers, Gert & Uwe Tobias, and most recently, American Icon, Jasper Johns.

Exhibitions at The Gallery at Windsor typically run from December through April. In addition to showing international quality exhibitions, The Gallery also hosts artists in residence and special programs including guest lectures. Announcements of upcoming exhibitions are traditionally made during the summer and can be found on this website.

For every exhibition at The Gallery at Windsor, we produce a unique exhibition catalog. Catalogs are available for purchase from The Gallery’s online store at
