SPORTING

From the time it was founded with two polo fields, sport has always been central to the lifestyle of Windsor. Today, in addition to equestrian facilities, Members enjoy world-class golf, tennis and specialty sports.

A Unique Approach

Laid out in 1991 by legendary golf course architect Robert Trent Jones Jr., Windsor’s championship 18-hole links-style course is a masterpiece in traditional golf course design. Its undulating landscape and wind-shaped trees evoke the Serengeti while the nuances of the par 72 course challenge players of all levels and are appreciated more with every round played.

Extensive Renovation

In 2019, Robert Trent Jones Jr. returned with his team to carry out an extensive renovation of the 120-acre course that recaptured the original design intent and updated golf holes in concert with today’s game. Grass on all greens, tees, fairways and roughs was replaced; tee boxes were enlarged and reoriented; and original hole locations and bunker shapes were restored.

Greater Variety

In addition to a 400-yard driving range, players now also enjoy greater variety in length and angle of approach shots as well as additional and extended target, putting and chipping green areas for more diverse practice scenarios.

Dog Friendly

The club boasts a professional golf shop and personal instruction is available from one of several golf professionals on staff. With no tee times and a dog-friendly policy, the golf club aims to offer the ultimate golfing experience to Members.

Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program

In November 2024, Windsor’s golf course was certified by Audubon International as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, joining an elite group of the world’s most sustainable golf clubs. The designation follows a comprehensive evaluation of Windsor’s environmental standards for the golf course and reflects the Club’s dedication to enhancing the area’s natural surroundings and strengthening the local wildlife habitat. The course is now one of about 900 courses in the world to hold this certification.
