Bestselling Author David Smick Discusses His New Book "The Great Equalizer" at Windsor

    April 5, 2017 | Windsor Florida |

Celebrated author and Windsor Member David Smick hosted a presentation at Windsor on Tuesday, April 4, discussing and signing his bestselling new book The Great Equalizer: How Main Street Capitalism Can Create an Economy for Everyone. A reception followed, where more than 80 Windsor Members and their guests mingled with the author over cocktails.

In the book, Mr. Smick worries that without returning to historic levels of economic performance, and implementing other reforms, today’s millennials will become “the big losers of the 21st Century.” Filled with economic trials and revelations, The Great Equalizer was praised by both House Speaker Paul Ryan and Obama economic advisor Larry Summers, reaching The New York Times, LA Times, and U.S.A. Today bestseller lists.

Additionally, Mr. Smick’s 2008 award-winning bestseller The World is Curved was endorsed by President Bill Clinton. A writer for The New York Times called the book “astonishingly prescient.” The Washington Post called it “clairvoyant.” Characterized by openness of access and entry, and favoring entrepreneurship and small business, Mr. Smick calls for the great equalizer, a Main Street Capitalism of mass small-business startups and bottom-up innovation, all unfolding on a level playing field.
