This January, The Gallery at Windsor celebrates 25 years with Reframed: 25 Years of Art at Windsor, a major retrospective showcasing works by the internationally acclaimed artists who have shaped the Gallery’s history.

Opening January 23, 2027, the exhibition will revisit 25 years of ambitious contemporary art programming at Windsor, a private residential sporting club community, featuring works by artists who have participated in solo and group exhibitions at The Gallery, alongside works created through Windsor’s Artist-in-Residence program. The exhibition features more than 20 artists, among them Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Ed Ruscha, Alex Katz, Peter Doig, Beatriz Milhazes, Jasper Johns, Grayson Perry, Annie Leibovitz, Rose Wylie, Tony Cragg, and Charlotte Verity.

Curated by Tim Marlow, OBE, Director and Chief Executive of the Design Museum, London, Reframed will also mark the unveiling of a new addition to Windsor’s collection, acquired by Galen and Alannah Weston in honor of their late mother, The Hon. Hilary M. Weston, Windsor’s co-founder who served as Creative Director of The Gallery for more than 15 years. The new acquisition entitled Still Water is by British sculptor Nic Fiddian Green, and depicts a larger-than-life horse’s head carved by hand from Carrara marble. Many of the other featured works in the exhibition are on loan from the Weston family’s private collection.

The exhibition comes at a significant moment for The Gallery, which was founded by Alannah Weston in January 2002, with a vision of bringing museum-quality contemporary art into the everyday life of the Windsor community. Under the creative leadership of Hilary Weston, who passed away in August 2025, The Gallery developed an ambitious exhibition program that set a new standard for cultural amenities in a private community, establishing collaborations with leading international cultural institutions, such as the Whitechapel Gallery and the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

“I am delighted to announce Reframed: 25 Years of Art at Windsor. This retrospective celebrates the history of The Gallery and its 25 years of remarkable exhibitions, while honoring my mother, Hilary, whose creative leadership helped shape it into a place where extraordinary artists and bold ideas enrich Windsor and its community,” said Alannah Weston.

Among the highlights of the retrospective will be works representing some of the Gallery’s landmark exhibitions and partnerships. Its collaborations with the Whitechapel Gallery included exhibitions of Beatriz Milhazes, Gert & Uwe Tobias and Jasper Johns, while its three-year partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts, launched in 2018, brought exhibitions by Grayson Perry, Michael Craig-Martin and Rose Wylie to Windsor.

For Marlow, the exhibition offers an opportunity to reconsider the impact of The Gallery’s program over its first 25 years. “Since it was founded, The Gallery at Windsor has become a pioneering cultural force in Florida and well beyond, introducing exceptional artists – both established and emerging – to new audiences through an ambitious curatorial program and collaborative exhibitions with some of the world’s most prestigious cultural institutions,” said Tim Marlow. “It has been my privilege to work with The Gallery again and reflect on its accomplishments at the quarter-century mark.”

Reframed will be accompanied by a commemorative book documenting the history of The Gallery and the artists, exhibitions and partnerships that have defined it. The publication will feature a foreword by Alannah Weston, a conversation between Weston and Marlow, an essay on the exhibition and commentaries on individual works by Alastair Sooke, author, broadcaster and chief art critic at The Telegraph. An afterword will be contributed by Galen Weston. Designed by leading arts book designer Miko McGinty, the book will be published by KMEC Books.

Windsor will continue its prominent focus on art as part of its final development phase, the North Village, which will expand The Gallery’s art programming, introducing temporary and permanent art installations within the landscape. The neighborhood’s estuary will be home to an “Art Island” where architect- and artist-designed works will create an inspiring space for quiet contemplation.

Reframed: 25 Years of Art at Windsor will be on view January 23 through April 30, 2027. Public tour reservations open November 2, 2026. Selected works will be available for purchase, including pieces from Per Kirkeby, Tony Cragg, Federico Herrero, Charlotte Verity and Rana Begum. The Gallery is open to Windsor Members and their guests. Members of the public may visit through docent-led group tours by appointment. Admission is free, with visitors encouraged to make a suggested $15 donation to the Windsor Charitable Foundation, which supports a local nonprofit arts organization.
