The Gallery at Windsor Supports Vero Beach Museum of Art Summer Art Camp

    June 15, 2018 | Windsor Florida |

On behalf of The Windsor Charitable Foundation, Windsor is pleased to announce that The Gallery at Windsor will provide a gift of $2,300 directly to the Vero Beach Museum of Art to support their 2018 Summer Art Camp, thanks to generous donations made by its Members and the visiting public.

“The gift presented to the Vero Beach Museum of Art will support 20 local youth scholarships making it possible for them to participate in the Museum’s Summer Art Camp,” said Sara Klein, Vero Beach Museum of Art Director of Education.

The Museum’s Summer Art Camp is designed to offer an environment for young artists to explore ideas, develop skills, help build self-esteem and encourage creativity through experiencing, making and learning about all aspects of art.

“We are pleased to bring more happy campers to the Museum this summer,” said Laura Kelley, Art Gallery Manager at Windsor. “It is a perfect fit with The Gallery’s philanthropic priority to support arts education in our local community.”

Founded in 2002, The Gallery at Windsor is an independent art space that is home to important works from the George Weston Collection. Curators are invited to respond to the space with museum quality shows of contemporary art, including paintings, works on paper, photography and multi-media installations. To date, The Gallery at Windsor has exhibited work from leading contemporary artists including Peter Doig, Ed Ruscha, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Alex Katz and Jasper Johns. In a three-year collaboration with the Royal Academy, The Gallery at Windsor launched its first annual exhibition in January 2018 with featured three-dimensional art by celebrated British artist and Turner Prize winner, Grayson Perry CBE RA.

The Gallery at Windsor welcomed more than 1,400 visitors by appointment this season, a record-breaking number for its seasonal exhibitions held annually from January through April. While there is no admission fee to visit The Gallery at Windsor, visitors are encouraged to support The Windsor Charitable Foundation with a donation designated for arts education. Established in 2015, The Windsor Charitable Foundation, a 501c3 organization was created as an avenue for Windsor Members to give back to the local community.

    About Windsor
Windsor (WindsorFlorida.com) is a private residential community spanning 425 acres of lush barrier island between the Indian River and the Atlantic Ocean in Vero Beach, Florida. Established in 1989 by Hilary and W. Galen Weston of Toronto, Canada, Windsor was designed by renowned town planners Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk in the New Urbanism style of residential living, one that offers public and community spaces framed by timeless architecture and landscape design that celebrates its tropical and unspoiled setting. Windsor is comprised of 350 homesites in various styles including village homes, cottages and country estates, all remarkable for their signature Anglo-Caribbean architecture and gracious living.

Windsor provides homeowners privacy and seclusion combined with the finest amenities, exemplary services and sporting activities. Members enjoy an 18-hole links-style golf course, Har-Tru tennis courts, an Equestrian Centre, full-sized polo field, over four miles of riding trails, a fully equipped Fitness Centre, and Gun Club. The Clubhouse, with interiors designed by Yabu Pushelberg, is a favorite gathering place much like the Beach Club which features private cabanas, its own restaurant, a pool-side Cabana Bar and 25-metre swimming pool. Windsor is also known for its art gallery featuring a revolving series of world-class exhibitions, and a Town Hall, which serves as a chapel and a venue for weddings, concerts and lectures.
