Curated by Tim Marlow OBE, Director and Chief Executive of London’s Design Museum, Reframed: 25 Years of Art at Windsor looks back on 25 years of ambitious contemporary art programming at Windsor. The exhibition brings together works by artists featured in solo and group shows at The Gallery, along with pieces created through Windsor’s Artist-in-Residence program. More than 20 artists are represented, among them Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Ed Ruscha, Alex Katz, Peter Doig, Beatriz Milhazes, Jasper Johns, Grayson Perry, Annie Leibovitz, Sir Christopher Le Brun, Rose Wylie, Tony Cragg, and Charlotte Verity.

Highlights of the retrospective include works from several of The Gallery’s landmark exhibitions and partnerships. Collaborations with the Whitechapel Gallery featured exhibitions by Beatriz Milhazes, Gert & Uwe Tobias, and Jasper Johns. A three-year partnership with the Royal Academy of Arts, launched in 2018, brought exhibitions by Grayson Perry, Sir Michael Craig-Martin, and Rose Wylie to Windsor.

Reframed will be accompanied by a commemorative book chronicling The Gallery’s history and the artists, exhibitions, and partnerships that have shaped it. The publication will include a foreword by Alannah Weston; a conversation between Weston and Marlow; and an essay and commentaries on individual works by Alastair Sooke, author, broadcaster, and chief art critic at The Telegraph. Galen Weston will contribute an afterword. Designed by acclaimed arts book designer Miko McGinty, the book will be published by KMEC Books.
